The PR & Communications Specialist 
leads the execution of enterprise communications for Danos Group, delivering clear, strategic messaging that reinforces the company’s purpose, values, and reputation (PVR).  

This role operates within the Danos Shared Services (DSS) Operating system—primarily Delivering enterprise communications, Safeguarding brand and reputation and Enabling businesses with tools and guidance—while partnering closely with business leaders to ensure messaging supports evolving priorities and growth. 

Responsibilities

Deliver (Centralized Execution) 

  • Serve as the primary owner and point of contact for Danos Group communications.  
  • Develop, write, and execute internal and external communications, including:  
  • Employee, customer, and Foundation newsletters  
  • Company-wide campaigns  
  • Executive messaging  
  • Website content  
  • Own and execute the annual communications plan across internal and external audiences using an omni-channel approach.  
  • Manage and maintain Danos Group websites, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with strategic priorities.  
  • Support trade shows and events through messaging, content development, and coordination.  

Safeguard (Brand & Reputation Protection) 

  • Ensure all communications align with Danos purpose, values, and reputation standards (PVR).  
  • Establish and reinforce messaging guardrails, tone, and brand consistency across all businesses.  
  • Lead proactive and reactive reputation management communications, including issue response support when needed.  
  • Maintain editorial standards (AP style, voice, clarity) across all written communications.  

Enable (Shared Capability) 

  • Provide tools, templates, and guidance to businesses to improve communication quality and consistency.  
  • Partner with business leaders and teams to strengthen messaging, storytelling, and audience alignment.  
  • Identify and implement scalable communication practices that improve speed, clarity, and effectiveness.  
  • Support adoption of emerging technologies (e.g., AI tools) to enhance communication efficiency and impact.  

Advise (Strategic Input) 

  • Advise leadership on communication strategy, messaging risks, and positioning opportunities.  
  • Recommend audience-targeted sponsorships, media opportunities, and industry recognition (awards, features).  
  • Align communication efforts with enterprise strategy, including “Where to Play” and “How to Win” choices.  
  • Provide insight on message effectiveness, audience engagement, and opportunities for improvement. 

Qualifications

Skills: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field preferred 
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate communications or media relations 
  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, editing, and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong ability to translate business strategy into clear, compelling messaging 
  • Proven ability to partner with and influence leadership 
  • Excellent project management skills; able to manage multiple projects with speed and clarity 
  • Strategic thinker with sound judgement and strong problem-solving skills. Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, growing organization with evolving needs 
  • Proficient in AP style and Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) 
  • Experience with Canva, CRM, Co-Pilot, iCIMS, ADP, and Power BI preferred 
  • Experience with website content management and event support is a plus. 
  • Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to explore and implement new technologies 

 

Additional Information: 

 

  • Based in Gray, Louisiana, with some remote work flexibility 
  • Requires occasional domestic travel
