Job Title: Business Systems Analyst

Job Location: Gray, Louisiana

The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) acts as the liaison between business units and the Information Systems team, ensuring technology solutions align with organizational goals. The BSA is responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, gathering requirements, and supporting the design, testing, and implementation of system solutions across the company’s applications and data environment.

Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis
    • Partner with business stakeholders to document current workflows, pain points, and system needs.
    • Translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications.
    • Conduct impact analyses to evaluate changes and new initiatives.

 

  • System Implementation & Support
    • Collaborate with IT, vendors, and business users to implement new applications, integrations, and upgrades.
    • Assist with system configuration, data validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
    • Provide end-user support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for business applications.

 

  • Process Improvement & Documentation
    • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and increase efficiency.
    • Develop process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.
    • Promote adoption of best practices in system usage and data governance.

 

  • Project Participation & Coordination
    • Contribute to project planning, timelines, and deliverables.
    • Support cross-functional projects related to ERP, HRIS, CRM, and custom-developed applications.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned systems.

 

  • Data & Reporting
    • Work with reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Excel) to provide insights and KPIs.
    • Support data integrity and assist with data migration and integration initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
    • 2–5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role.
    • Experience working with ERP, HRIS, CRM, or custom applications in a private company environment preferred.

 

  • Skills & Competencies
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate technical details into business language.
    • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau).
    • Knowledge of SQL or database querying is a plus.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with cross-functional teams.
    • Strong business acumen and ability to understand end-to-end processes.
